It turns on then will turn off right away
I recently bought a 46" Emerson TV model number: lf461em4. I press the power button it takes a few seconds to turn on but once it shows on it turns off after a few seconds

Hunter Paxton when you say turns off, you did not tell us if you mean your set turns off entirely or just your display which turns off. Either way it does sound like an issue with the power supply board. You always want to check your warranty on this as well. You stated that it is a recently purchased TV, so contact the seller and see if it is covered first
Unplug your set and remove the back. Then look for obvious damage of the boards (leaking capacitors, missing or charred components etc.) Post plenty of images with your question. That will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide for that. Emerson is a bit off brand. I believe your set is actually made by Funai and rebranded as Emerson, Sylvania and Magnavox models. See if you have a chassis number showing on the back label.

I was watching TV and the set just turned itself off. I tried to turn it back on and that's when the little red light blinked about five times then went back to the steady red light again. I tried a number of times but the same thing happens. I gave up!
Turned tv off returned back and then turned back on came on a second picture off power light on.
Watching tv and it turns off, then back on, on and off many times then it turns on and it changes itself to Hdmi 2 then pc... then off..back on.. mother board? It's 5-6 yrs old
I'm having the same problem but I've already replaced the power supply board. What else could it be?
Mine is an old trident model TV of over 15 yrs .got same problem as it goes off immediely I put power on.. how can I fix this

Im having the same problem with the same tv he has. I went to sleep lastnight and woke up to my tv off. Tried to turn it on but it cuts off right away. But for a brief second you can see where it says hold ok button for 3 seconds then it turns off. Please help

Same here. The red light comes on, blinks about five times and then clicks off!

It may be your tv motherboard is fried i had the same problem it coast me 250 to get fixed at a tv repair shop
