Why my LCD flicks and after gets full of vertical coulored lines?

My screen is always working if it lays against something stable enough, as a wall or some heavy books.

However, If it's free as a laptop use to be, seems that it's vibrations soon or later will make it flick with horizontal lines, dissolving any image, and after vertical coulored lines will appear covering all, sometimes the image return for a seconds, but vertical lines always come back.

My temporary solution is to avoid to have the laptop without "screen-support". I feel is better not to force it, so like that works perfectly... until now.

What could it be the solution?

This sounds like it may be the Display Data Cable. When you move the screen does it cause the problem? There are 17 different A1181 models, could you give us the last three letters of your serial number so we can tell EXACTLY which unit you have?

I don't know if it's caused directly by the movement... I would say better the "free movement" or "unstable movement". I can move it slowly keeping its support, pushing the whole laptop softly against the wall, so the inclination of the screen change to "more closed", it keeps on working. Or if I try to vary the inclination to "more opened", I hold the screen stable with my hand against the wall and at the same time I softly pull the computer body, but with this movement seems more risky to keep the stabiity. Anyway the best is to adjust the right inclination before switch on the compu and don't change it too much.

If I just move it as it has to be, and I let it without support, lets say I start to type words, to write a text for instance, then the vibrations it receives and litle oscilations it makes soon or later will make it start to decompose the image and etc.

Too much movement is not good in any case!

This are the three last letters: YA3

Do you finally think could be the display data cable?

How difficult is to install a new one? I've never opened.... but I'm electronic engineer student.
