Do you have a OSX USB stick - you can download DMG in another mac and do it or a Ubuntu USB stick. Try boot from that. Likely mSATA drive failed!

I've got a grey screen, it comes on when pressed the power button connected to macsafe,

Then when removed at 100% charge( I know it since the amber light turned green) and pressed the power button it'll switch off but not turn on again, to turn on I need to connect the charger

Plus it'll only go up to the grey screen and the back apple logo lightning up @reecee @moeller22

And also when I close the laptop, like food the top part, the light is still on the Mac logo it s doesn't go in stand by

logo has glowing light, with start up chime but the screen is grayish color

Does it chime? Does the caps lock light when pressed? Have you tried a test screen and booting from another SSD?

Check the power rails on the logic board. If it is chiming it will be related to the screen or screen circuitry on the board. If it is not chiming, have fun figuring this out :)

It's not chiming, I give up

I'll just buy a new laptop, thanks for your help peeps

Don't give up! Is the caps lock lighting when pressed, after 20 seconds of pressing the power button? If not, this means it is not getting into an OS, and therefore not passing post.

This can be caused by a number of things, but it will definitely be related to the logic board. Check around U6100 and check all the power rails if you wanted to take this on. If not, sell it on eBay for spares, you will get quite a bit toward a new MacBook.

Well how can we comment on your purchase choices! -

Step 1: Turn on your Mac by pressing the power button by choosing Restart in the Apple menu, or restart it if it’s already on.

Step 2: Press and hold the Option (⌥) key immediately upon hearing the startup chime. Release the key after Startup Manager appears. Startup Manager will scan and list connected drives and volumes that can be booted from, as shown below.

@moeller22 it's not chiming, so he can't do this. If it is not chiming, it is not passing post, which is a more complex issue
