Completely dead and not heating up

Okay so I got a 6 with after damage. Did the usual, cleaned etc. found some burnt components and shorted caps. Removed the shorted caps. Still won't turn on. Board looks fine but won't charge either. Batt voltage is 1.49 every single time, it won't charge the battery either. What should I try? There is no short on the battery terminals, the diode setting on my multimeter says 371. Is this normal?

So you tested vcc main and it's good correct? Could simply be damage to Tristar. I would look at your tristar if your lines are testing good. Also double check your caps under apu shield...two easily make contact with liquid and get damaged often and make sure your nand looks good as well as tests good.

Definitely look at tristar first in my opinion.

I looked at it and didn't find any burnt components around it, it's covered in under fill so I don't think water could get under it.

Also when removing caps I accidentally moved the chip to the left on the second pic, I don't know that is does but I don't know if I resoldered it correctly

The chip I moved is labeled q1403

Try this. Also great pics they definitely help and we'll get this figured out bud. So the chip you're referencing you moved (q1403) is your vibe driver. I'm pretty sure its a power ic for charging and usb connection. It makes a connection to both your tristar as well as tigris (usb) ic.

Honestly if that chip was moved you might've accidentally bridged pads underneath rendering it non functional.

As for the tristar ic above (the 2nd pictured chip with black goop on it) it can still be bad even with its protective layer on it. It has a different material than overfill but resembles the same practice...to protect the chip.

I would first rule tristar out and make sure your pmic is giving correct voltage to your tristar, your tigris and your power controller ic.

Run a continuity test against cap c1299, c1738 and c1704. These are all connected to ground and will tell you if your tristar has a short. Run a voltage test to pad e4 on tristar (you should get 1.8v), to make sure your pmic is providing correctly.

Next I would run continuity test against cap c1417 (vcc_main), cap c1416-2. The 2nd cap connects to both ground and pp_batt_vcc. Rule out any shorts in that chip as well. From my research that is a smaller pmu that supplies voltage to your tigris and your main pmic u1202 provides voltage to your tristar.

Finally run voltage against the larger cap C1408. See if you're getting voltage there. If one or more looks off probably is the problem.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure vcc_main is providing power to your main pmic also.

I can also help with pics if you need. Hopefully this gives you a few helpful ideas.
