Why won't my SD card work?

I got an Acer T06 cell phone for Christmas this year and I have a 16 GB SD card which worked fine in my previous phone. Now that it is my new phone, it shows up in the settings and I have it set to download to it, but it won't download to it: it just downloads to my phone. I can only download so much then I get a message "internal storage is full. Please free space" I can not text until I free the space.

I have tried to reset it to factory settings. that did not work. I was told by Acer to try to reformat the SD card but there seems to be no option to do it.

I tried to manually move the files to my SD card.], but there is no option to do that. The only options i get are to share, text, or garbage.

As far as texts go, there is no way to move them to the phone. However, you can move apps, photos, videos, and just about everything else to the SD card. That will leave more room on the phone for texts. Texts also aren't conventualy stored on the phone or the SD card, but this must be an exception. Get an app to move your things. I hope this helps.

YOu need a file manager to move things. Its basically like opening a folder on a computer to move stuff from desktop to usb drives etc. I recommend ASTRO file manager. ES file manager pops up ads even when you arent using it. After you install that, open it up and there should be a guide telling you how to use it, If not, read the description of the app in playstore.

Many SD cards support hot plug, which means you can insert or remove the card in or from the phone while it is running. However, frequently insert or take out SD card may bring about metal wires in the card slot twist or rust.
