Lens error repair. Lens will not retract.

G 12 with a lens error. Lens is fully extended and will not retract. Camera shuts down.

Tried cleaning around lens for possible dirt. Also some other monkey business about removing the battery and putting it back in.

Do you have any information on fixing this sort of problem. I'm aware of this same problem with someone else I know had with a G10.
