My controller doesn't turn on and the light dims a lot

Alright, I &&^&@@ up. The controller was updating because I plugged in my headphones and it wouldn't work (said it needed an update) so I did. As it was updating, my cable hit the power button and turned off my Xbox. It doesn't turn on now, and when I press the light on the controller, the light just lights but is super dim and you can barely see it. I tried force restarting and also the syncing method and both work. Please I don't want to pay for repair or a new one!! Help!!
