Does A 2012 Hard Drive Cable Work in a 2010 MacBook Pro 13"?

Just wondering if the 2012 hard drive cables work fine in 2009/2010 Macbook Pro 13" models?

2009/2010 cables seem like they are more likely to fail than the newer cables, so I would prefer to fit these rather than the older cables.

The cable will work fine. Issues you may have are you may only be able to secure the cable with one screw.

If the bracket that holds the hard drive in place hits the new cable, I break it and use just one end. After I put the new cable in, I generally put pads on either side of the cable where it comes over the top on the optical drive housing to prevent the bottom of the case from hitting it. In later models, Apple used rubber pads attached to the bottom cover to try to help prevent this.

Thanks @mayer would you recommend using newer 2012 cables for the older models rather than the old 2009/2010 hard drive cables? Or should I stick with using 2009/2010 cables?

I won't install any cable other than a 2012 unless it is one that goes thru a chanel and i can't use it.
