Screen repair, not the lcd lights up but doesn't show image

So I started an ipad mini 2 screen replacement for a customer. Sadly, I broke the lcd while removing the heat shield. So I ordered a new lcd for the customer and when it arrived I installed it with now issues (seemingly). Now the lcd does light up however it does not display any image at all. The flex cable was slightly bent when I got the new lcd is that the issue? Please help

I did try a hard reset and that did not fix the issue. Also, I shined a light on the lcd to see if there is a faint image and there is not a faint image on the lcd.
