Can't download or charge properly
We plug it in either to charge it or download the days events off of it but it won't stay connected to the gopro.
We believe that it is an internal issue with the gopro.

Have you updated the software recently?
Also when you say charge it do you mean the wall charger or do you charge it through your pc?
Have you tried a different usb port? Or cord for that matter.
Try taking the battery out and then downloading.
I noticed before that if my battery is almost dead and it's trying to charge and you plug it into the computer it'll try and charge and run at the same time and the battery will die cutting power to the go pro.
Won't stay connected, do you mean it'll connect, recognize the device then disconnect? How quickly does all that happen?
