Why is my MacBook Pro restarting all the time?

My mid 2012 MacBook Pro 15" keeps shutting down and restarting. I changed/upgraded ram cards from 2 gb each to 4 gb each, and put in a brand new solid state drive because I read quite a lot of articles and forums that state that would stop the problem. It is not getting hot. I have reset PRAM, SMC, and NVRAM. If you need, I have saved the most recent panic report. I am at a loss here, please someone help for I don't have the money to buy a brand new MacBook Pro. Than k you in advance. ~Andy

I called apple and determined it is my GPU that is causing the issue. The only way to replace it is to replace the logic board. (which is very costly!) :( Guess I have to just deal with it or get a new Mac.

See it is the gpu. Since its the gpu using gfxcardstatus will fix it. Ive done it before and it worked for that other guy. Go back to el cap and see if it works.

is it kernel panicing or shutting off. If it kernel panics, Check [http://this|GPU issues, please help?] for the answer that may help. gfxcardstatus is the program you would want to test.

Hope this helps and good luck fixing!

I have tried to use gfxcardstatus but it says that I am "using a system that does not support gfxcardstatus."

Also, the OS is OSX Sierra.

You need el capitan to run it. Im pretty sure this could be your issue. Does it Kernel panic? or just shut off

Yes, it kernel panics. I unchecked the box to disable GPU Switching. Let's see if that works.

@aewing Think it should. lemme know if it works then
