Getting ready to bypass the lid lock assembly

My Kenmore has a 4-wire lid lock assembly and the only place that plugs in is into the control board so do I make my bypass there by pulling out the plug from the control board and doing my job there or do I actually go to the lock assembly underneath the lock where there is no plug-in you would have to cut the wires and why are not him together please help have 5 kids and no laundry since last Thursday thank u
