Is it safe to unplug rinsing dispenser from dishwasher?

Hi,

I have a Danby Countertop diswasher model DDW497W. I know it is old but it is still doing a great job and I'm very happy with it.

However, it is having a problem during the rinse cycle. It seems it is attempting to release the rinsing agent and immediatly a very very loud buzzing noise goes off. Nothing else in the cycle is affected though.

I took the unit apart and I think I have identified the culprit. The rinsing dispenser is not working properly, hence the noise. I emptied the dispenser and it was full with all the fluid that was never released. There is a little "valve" or "relay" where the noise is coming from. I cleaned it and removed as much rust as possible but so far, it still makes the noise once entering the rinsing cycle.

Do you think it safe to "unplug" the dispenser for good and keep the unit running without it?

There is a separate area for the actual detergent.

I actually found out this was the problem thanks to this fellow (starts at 3:17):

I don’t see this as a problem. All your doing is bi-passing the dispenser. Be sure to tape the ends of the wires. Especially if your disconnecting from inside the lid. Remember the lid has movement causing the wires to shake. If one should get in contact with a conductor it will cause a short. Tape it tight.
