iPad Air 2 home button not working

Soooo Iv got an iPad Air 2, the screen has been changed along with the home button. I know when you do this you loose Touch ID, but it still works as a button.

So I assemble it, install the button and all is good.

I glue it back together and it still works fine, I turn it off and go to bed. The next day the home button doesn't work when pressing it st the home screen, bear in mind no one has touched it overnight.....

If I hold power + home the iPad restarts, so it shows it's working, it just won't do anything at the home screen when it says press home to unlock. Usually the passcode input pops up, but nothing at all happens.....but it will restart ok....

So it seems the iPad is choosing what input to accept from it.
