Problem with magnetic lid-sensor. MBP doesn't go to sleep mode.

Hi,

My MBP mis 2010 doesn't go to sleep mode when I close the lid. The magnet is in its place and I bought a new sensor (all the part which includes battery indicator LEDs) but the problem still exists! I don't know why. Any other MacBook user with the same exprerience? How did you fix it?

When you close it, does the little light on the front "breathe"

It doesn't "breathe". Nothing happens putting a magnet near the earphones jack too. I tried also to reset the SMC and the PRAM. This is the second "battery indicator" part that I buy

Did anything happen that caused this to stop working? Liquid damage, a drop etc?

I bought the MBP used and it has always had this problem
