IPad Air screen becomes unresponsive when device is warm?

Basically a couple months back my screen was cracked but still useable so I continued to use it, after a few weeks the screen started ghost tapping randomly and the top half inch or so of the screen was unresponsive.

I ordered a replacement digitizer and screen from eBay and just fitted it, the ghosting has gone but when the iPad has been running for 20 mins or so the keypad becomes really slow and the same half inch of the top of the screen becomes unresponsive, the bottom half isn't the best either. When I restart the iPad it works great for about 10-20 mins then it just gets worse over time.

What do I do from here? I'm not sure if it's software or hardware but I've restored and everything, should I try a better quality digitizer?

If you bought a low-cost digitizer on eBay, then yes, you could have a poor quality replacement part. I am concerned that you have some similar symptoms (top of screen not responding) which could point to a logic board issue but the first thing to try is to order a high quality digitizer.

Then go through the guide and double check your steps. Inspect the connectors for debris or damage and also look at the surrounding area for dislodged components. Finally, insure that you don't pinch or bend the flexes.
