My computer doesn't detect the printer. I have tried going to my device settings, but my printer won't pop up below in the available devices. When refreshing the search for a new device, my printer still doesn't show.

Sorry just had to add that .
How are you connected to the printer over a LAN or by cable? If its by LAN then check to see the printer is turned on . If it is then shut it down and reboot it . Then look for it in your network settings and see to it that it is set as active.
If you connected by a cable make sure the connection is secure and once again that the printer is on . If there is still no joy try a different spot on the computer and if possible try a different cable

Try to connect your computer directly to the laptop through a usb cable and wait for your computer to download the device (or manually download it through the device page online). Afterwards, the printer should now be listed as one of the printer options. If it still does not print when connected by usb cable, then either try reinstalling the printer driver or refer to the printer's official site for common solutions. Note that this also may be a compatibility issue.

Remove and Re-Add Your Printer in Windows
If this happens, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and remove it. Then click Add a Printer or Scanner to re-add it to the device list. Incredibly (and frustratingly), this often gets things up and running again.

Commenting on these old posts which already have (Accepted) answers is not really what is targeted on the forum here. My recommendation would be to answer more recent questions which don't already have answers as it would be a lot more valuable
