MacBook not turning on and keeps rebooting

MacBook not turning on after battery replacement and battery not charging.

I replaced the battery as should then the following happened:

1 - first the MacBook was turning on but battery was not charging and display was not "turning on", only keyboard and it's functionalities as backlight controller and etc.

2 - then I removed and placed the battery again and now it's not turning on anymore, the MacBook looks like is rebooting over and over.

Here is a video of the behavior:

First off do a SMC Reset. If that doesn't work, I'd try unplugging the optical and hard drives to see if they are preventing the laptop from coming on.

Ok, i tried the smc reset, didn't solved. Then I tried the "disconnect optical", and this happens:

now light on the power connector is orange and it's not rebooting anymore. But when I plug the power connector the fan starts automatically.

When I try to power it on:

- keyboard backlight doesn't turn on

- screen doesn't turn on

- sleep light turns on for a sec and turns off

- fan stills on

Spencer - Not sure I understand your logic here in disconnecting the drives given what is visible in the vid.

Have you tried it with the battery unplugged? Have you tried it with the old battery?

Also, that sound near the end of the video, which drive is that coming from? If it's the hard drive, unplug it and see if the computer comes on. It sounds like something isn't getting enough power or something.

@danj some component might not be responding properly during the laptop's POST, it could be hanging up the boot process. I thought maybe one of the drives might be !#^&^$^ off the Mobo during boot.

My old battery was "bubbled", and pushing out the touchpad.

So, I disconnect the second hardrive and it helped. The continuous rebooting stopped. I connected it again. And it's ok.

The only thing that's looks like it's not working anymore is the video. What should I do? Take it to a specialist?

Do you guys knows how much it could cost? :/

And yes, I tried with g battery unplugged.

Are you sure its connected to a good outlet? Do you have a second MagSafe charger?

Within the Vid it appears the LED on the MagSafe connector is not lighting up. Also double check the connections review this: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters

Your Battery test with the blinking single LED is telling me the battery is fully discharged which is why your system is not starting up as the systems SMC services won't let you.

Once you get the MagSafe connector to light up (Amber during charging) and then once the battery is charged it will go to a steady Green. Your battery checker will slowly inch up so all of the LED's are lit as the battery charges (8 LED's if I remember correctly).

If your MagSafe doesn't light up or is a faint Amber or Green you may have a deeper problem.

Magsafe/charger/outlet are all good. I tested all of it on another MacBook. :)

Is the MagSafe Amber or Green?

It as Amber, it charged "one dot" at the battery display on the body of the MacBook and now is green. Doesn't look like it charged everything. It's weird.

Battery is not getting charged then! You likely have a bad comparator logic within SMC circuit on the main logic board or the battery its self is bad.

Try a second known good battery (charged) to see if both the battery checker goes all the way up and the system is able to boot up. But, before you go to far here download this gem of an app: CoconutBattery so you can install it onto your systems drive. It will offer you some useful diagnostic info on the batteries state and the charging logic. It maybe the charging logic is bad so you'll run the risk of discharging the good battery down as the MagSafe won't be able to charge it.

The sad part is: the battery is brand new. :/
