Recovering data through motherboard change

Hi all,

I recently managed to damage my iPhone 6, that hasn't been backed up in a while. It is still recognised by iTunes as in recovery mode, but it appears the only option I have from there is to restore (i.e. losing all my data). From a few days of research, my current understanding is that data is stored in a chip that is soldered to the motherboard, and this chip cannot be transferred to a donor board due to the original motherboard being necessary for the chip to work. I am also aware that the motherboard is directly connected to Touch ID and that if motherboard changes, Touch ID will no longer work.

This leads to my question: If an entire motherboard is removed from the broken phone and transferred into a donor phone of exactly the same specs (with home button if Touch ID is desired), would the phone then work as the original? If not and if it is possible, what other components would be necessary to transfer?

I understand in terms of data recovery this is a massive long shot, but after doing some research (and already having a basic interest in technology) the technical side of why it would/wouldn't work is also really interesting to me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Your only chance, in my opinion, is to use 3tools. You can try force boot maybe it boot to springboard or 3tools has a recovery mode where you can restore the device but keep user data. This tool is totally free instead of this other snake oil software on the internet. This is the official Homepage. 3u.com. If your device is still unable to boot there is one last opinion left. This youtube video shows you how to. This worked for me very often. You read the data directly from the nand chipset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58-7cg9c...

Good luck to you. I hope you have success.
