Screen won't turn on after replacement

After I fixed my iPhone 6 about a month ago from water damage it suffered around 2 years ago, I bought a replacement screen(some cheap one on eBay, more on that later) because my phones original screen got a little orange mark on it on the inside of the screen. After using this screen for less than a month, it starts going weird. I start seeing green dotted lines while I was at school today, and thought "No big deal, I'll just check on the connectors when I get home." This is where the problems start happening. After checking the connectors and seeing the screen works fine(still the cheap replacement one), I go and start to close my phone. When it wouldn't close, I realized there was still a screw just rolling around in the phone, and it had put a dent in the loud speaker. This also resulted in a black line going across the bottom part of the screen. This black line was MUCH worse than the small orange mark on my OEM screen, so I just switched the screens. After I plug in the connectors of the OEM screen, the screen wouldn't turn on. It is recognized by iTunes and it does make a sound when I plug it in to charge. After trying the replacement eBay screen, that didn't work either. So, where did I go wrong? Did that cheap eBay screen permanently ruin my logic board's LCD connectors, or do I just need a new screen replacement? If so, can someone link me to a reliable screen, one that can last a while(under $40). Thanks!

TL;DR: Phone screen didn't turn on after replacing screen.

First rule of thumb is to always disconnect all power sources to the phone before unplugging any other cable inside.

Sounds like a blown backlight filter. I assume you plugged / unplugged screen cables while the battery was connected to the phone?

You need to disconnect it to prevent short circuits from occurring on the backlight circuit of the logic board.

It's probably displaying an image but very dim, it's really hard to tell and to get it fixed you will need to take it to a mobile phone shop that does micro soldering to get them to replace the backlight filter.

So does that mean I'm better off getting a new screen replacement?

No if you blew a backlight fuse or something else related to display circuit, you'll need to have your board repair before replacing the screen.

You may also have caused long screw damage by using a long screw instead of a short one of the bottom left screw hole of the plate holding the screen cables in place - which is typically held in place by 3 short screws + 1 medium + 1 extra long. Often the medium screw (top left) is used instead of one of the short screws (bottom left, bottom right, and middle screw). Image is related to bottom left screw hole.
