The shutter button or the camera but I'm not sure

I have the same camera but the problem with mine is the shutter button. Whenever I want to take a photo of something I place my finger on the red and black button and pull and release but it doesn't work. Every time I press the red and black one it won't make the noise or spit out the film unless I go one button behind. Although, when I do that the photo comes out black. I think the two buttons or supposed to be together so when you press the red and black button the one behind it moves in sync. I really need help on fixing it and I'm not sure if what I said made any sense but I need help.
