Graphic Glitch with Donkey Kong Country

Hi everyone,

I'm new to forum but I've been repairing consoles for some time now. I've been trying to become more comfortable with more advance repairs with soldering and I believe I may have an issue that would require just that.

Yesterday I was testing a Super Nintendo (Soldered Cart Reader Model) I had managed to restore power to with a fuse replacement and everything seemed gravy. I tested a couple of games (MMX, Secret of Mana, Zelda:LttP) and all of them worked beautifully. However, when I loaded up Donkey Kong Country, I noticed something strange with the graphics.

On the first level it looked as though there were a semi transparent black overdrop covering the level. Character models displayed fine, but some of the ground and a lot of the trees were covered by this weird glitch. I tested it on my personal SNES (same model type) and the game ran without any of those issues. This is a first for me, so I'm not sure what to do.

I want to believe it's an issue with one of the chips, whether the vram or ppu, but I'm not sure how to narrow it down. If there is a way to where I can bridge connection points via a wire, I would love to do that. I just don't know where to start. Has anyone encountered this problem before?
