I have a half screen that popped up and I can't get rid of!

While playing solitaire, I hit something on the top toolbar and now I'm stuck with a blue screen that displays 1/3 of the way down and shows Wi-Fi/ Location/ Sound/Screen rotation/Bluetooth (with icons above) and the ringer icon and bar below. I can make it smaller and going behind the screen I'm using, but I've now lost the toolbar showing time and battery capacity which I need. Plus, my whole screen dimmed. How do I get rid of this screen and go back to normal?
