My disk is spinning and stopping.

The first time I put in my game, it read it, perfectly.... the game just crashed at the title screen. My thoughts instantly went to "oh, it's scratched to !&&* so maybe it would work after I fixed it with one of those scratch cleaning machine thingies (yes I say that)." well, I got it fixed with one of those machines but when I put in the disc, it makes the spinning noise like it's being read, but it then stops and there is a little pop. Why is that? It only works with my one CD, every other one, even the non readable ones, don't have that problem.
