Bought a 1975 Olds Omega yrs ago for my son's first car to kick around in while learning to drive. Old couple owned it since new, both in their 80's. No longer could drive due to health.
Floored down the highway, kept dropping tranny down to build RPMs building exhaust pressure to blow it out & to hit 25mph finally after 30-40 mins in it...lol Next day I unbolted the converter, soaked it in dish soap, that failed, so did kerosene, acetone, brake cleaner anything we could pour in it. This done very little but made it legal on a highway if you dare. It was so clogged it took forever to reach 55mph but it would finally reach it. Finally I ripped the cat off again, filled it with karosene & lit that bad boy up (3-4 times). Slapped it back on and ran that car to death over a week or two & it ran good afterwards. It's converter had the deflection plates inside. Not like todays converters you can gut if you choose so they were very problematic to say the least back then.
I only saw 2 converters get this bad (well worse). A 1986 Firebird a freind putted around in so much at 51k miles 2 mechanics told her the trans failed cause it couldn't move from the spot the wrecker dropped it off in her back yard. I went & looked at it (car sat there 2 months) and I noticed it rocking both backward/forward just a ticks turd but engine bogged down bigtime when she floored it. Put my hand at the tailpipe & I felt nothing. Notta! Asked her for a hammer, after she laughed then freaked out realizing I was seriously going to hit her precious ride with it trying to repair it, you know that look?
So I crawled under it & just beat the hell out of her cat.
Got up, said start it & drive it!
Car took right off, she was shocked!
So first I called dealer because warranty in cats then ran out at 50k, she had 1k over & they said tough chit lady. I tried anyway!
No doubt it was clogged real bad before 50k. Over $300 for cat alone everywhere we called but one shop said, $118 installed, around 1990? We babied it there so we didn't clog the muffler that cost way more than her cat, big one! When she left the shop, the car went sideways out their lot, she was so used to flooring it everywhere just so it moved & she nearly lost it. She said it was a brand new car again! Shocked she didnt notice it but I told her it does it over & time not suddenly. People never notice all their powers gone!
My other freind had a 1978 Buick Riviera that burnt to the ground after returning home from a long trip. Floorboard heated so bad the carpet ignited & his weenie roast began. Luckily he climbed out cause he certainly would have had one...lol
So for all those who put non-foulers on your O2 sensors to stop bad cat codes/light, think about that a minute?
If you still decide to heres a decent plan of action?
1) Gotta call & get your full coverage goin.
2)stock up on hot dogs & marshmallows to have quickly.
3) Stop buying brand new tires for it, wasting hot dog money.
4) Keep your cell phone/wallet/Ins info in your pocket at all times, never in its console.
5) Write all your buds/family's numbers down to invite to the weenie roast, that's so you'll have a ride home too. My buddy Bob got lucky his was at home. No hot dogs, man what a waste of a big fire.
6) Don't forget sticks or those fancy extending weenie/ marshmallow holders.
7) Oh' & the beer don't forget the beer, nobody will come with no beer so you'll be walking home then for sure. Probably should practice saving the beer from the fire too.
Idk, seeing this I think its less trouble just changing cat out myself.

Sorry, what make and model Samsung do you have? I am not familiar with any Samsungs with Catalytic convertors and exhaust manifolds.
