My monitor is cracked, but the actual display seems to be unharmed.

I recently got handed a Acer f220hql touchscreen monitor that is cracked. The touchscreen function no longer works but the actual display looks just fine. I do not care about the touchscreen component, but I would like to fix/replace the cracked part for relatively cheap. Here is a picture of the damage.

Update (10/07/2017)

I managed to successfully remove the broken glass from my monitor but now there is a line close to the edge :( I doubt there would be any easy fix.

@hackzzila the cracked part is the touch screen. So if you want it fixed you will have to replace it or consider replacing the touch screen with a regular thin piece of Plexiglass. Still trying to get the manual for your Acer f220hql model but seems to be a tough one to find.

I couldn't find much on it either. I would just have to loosen the glue with a hair dryer and pull off the broken piece, right? How would I get the plexiglass back on to the rest of the screen?

I would think you could attach it to the bezel somehow. After all it would only protect the LCD from smudges etc. and might not even be necessary.

That actually looks like a TAB error. The diver board for the LCD panel is attached via multiple small ribbon cables that attach to the top of the pane, if one of those comes loose, you get that line. Put some pressure on the ribbon cable that enters the LCD panel right where the line is. If it disappears, it's a TAB error. Hard to fix but sometimes a bit of duct tape does the trick.

@oldturkey03 the best I could seem to do was change the color of the line :|

yeah sounds like a bad TAB
