Coconut battery showing diffrent residua design capacity, by the hours

Hi folks,

Coconut battery shows a different residual percentage of design capacity more or less any time I start it: has any one experienced something like this?

Mind you, my replacement battery is on the way from iFixit, so I'm curios if the problem is only the battery or could also be something else.

Additional question: do apple batteries have inboard electronics? or they just have cells and wires?

Thank you!

Ciao

Gio

Update (11/04/2017)

The value 33.7% is ranging from 25 to 59 depending on the good or bad days, and the residual percentage of Finder is unreliable it can die on me when showing 35%

Question still is: is this only the battery, or can also be the controller?

Thank you, Dan

Ciao

Gio

Coconut is telling us the battery is near failure 'Check Battery'

We could try to salvage it by discharging it the rest of the way first, then resetting SMC, then allow the system to fully charge once again and then discharge fully and recharge still one more time following this guide: Calibrating Your MacBook, Air, or Pro Battery.

I must warn you its possible the battery won't recover here at which point you'll need a new battery. You see its possible one cell has gone so our efforts may not save it and could in fact push it over the edge.

Given the state its in not much of a loss as long as you can get a battery! Which gets into where you are located on this big blue marble as IFIXIT or other suppliers can't ship to some locations (surface transit only). So make sure you have an option 'B' plan before doing this.
