When I replace my screen, do I need the original metal shield?

Hello, so I have been fixing phones as a hobby for about a year now. I fix friends and families phones for cheap, but have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to. When replacing the screen on and iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, etc., do I need to use the original metal shield with the screen replacement, or can I use the one that comes with a screen (with stuff pre-installed) meaning I only need the home button?

You can use the one that comes preinstalled. It shouldn't have an effect, but make sure to change home button , so you don't end up with the touch ID not working
