When I put the button on, I get the White round LED on the front lighting up, I hear the inside of the iMac come to life, but no speaker sound, no screen, it stays dark, and I worked out the USB ports are not powering up? HELP.

See if there is a pattern to the blinking. Also try a PRAM reset, boot up holding down the P, R, Option , Command keys and hold for three reboots. Your sounds should come back and maybe your system.
