My alcatel one touch idol x shuts its self off and then bootloops

My Alcatel One Touch Idol X 6040a, that I got just a couple months ago, will shut down while im using it and then it gets stuck in a bootloop and then later i try to get it on and it works for a bit and then shuts down again. Then the cycle goes on. Do I need a new battery possibly? Plz help im desperate.
