Keypad numbers, do not appear on screen
I can press the numbers 5 and 8 on Nokia 6010, but the numbers do not appear on the screen

bill, since the 5 and 8 button are not responsive and you already cleaned the keypad and made sure that nothing is blocking the numbers, I would start with replacing the keypad first and see if that makes a difference. also make sure that the keypad connects with the appropriate power points to close the contact. The other thing you can try and do first is a Hard reset and I think for the Nokia it is done by:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen. If none of this works, then you worst case scenario would be to start looking toward a new logic board. Just my 2 cents and good luck to you.

bill, even so the numbers do not appear on your display, does your 6010 dial the numbers?

no... the phone does not dial-out. I can push the buttons, but nothing happens, although the buttons around the 5 and 8 work, so if the number being dialed, contains a 5 or 8, we can't call out. This happened to another 6010 that we have, but I kept pushing and pushing and finally, it came back. I have taken it apart, and tried to play with the keypad, but no success. Is the keypad broken, or what it interacts with underneath broken, because you can, buy another keypad for it. Any ideas?
