I can't get any drivers for the OS

A lady brought in an Acer Aspire 3690 laptop that wouldn't boot. She had windows media edition 2002 loaded on it. But, she did not have any of the disc that came with the system. We reinstalled a new version of windows xp but after the install in device manager the other list is all lit up like new years. I mean I don't have the drivers for a lot of the parts on this computer. I can't get online to update them because the ethernet card is not recognized. Even when I plug it straight in I still get nothing. Is there an alternative way for a solution???
