Brake &check engine light won't go off

I changed the cluster on a 2006 f-150 fx4 and the brake light and check engine light are on. Does this need reprogrammed? Can I fix it myself?

Does the problem only happenen when the headlights are on, or did you check to make sure you reconnected everything properly.

No. As soon as I plugged the new cluster in they came on.
