Samsung S5 keeps restarting after screen replacement

Hi,

after i replaced the screen, screen lights up and works normally but phone wont even boot to recovery mode. It just keeps restarting. When i put old screen back, screen is not working, but i know, that it booted because buttons light up. I dont really know what to do now. Any suggestions ? Thank you.

I just found something. Theres model G901F and G900F. But i cant find out if they are compatible. What do you think?

take the back frame off of the device, short out the two power button leads, to boot it without the button. see if it boots.

alright, next i would see if it boots to download mode. (not recovery)

its the same as booting to reocvery mode, but you use V- rather than V+

It booted to download mode without any problem. I'm just trying to reinstall OS

great. that was going to be the suggestion. Reloading the OS is best done by downloading the OEM stock Firmware, and Forcing it in through Odin

it doesnt seem like you need it, but i quickly threw this together for you, in case.

Maybe it's too late to help you, but LCD for G901F is very specific.

Here is the one I ordered, and my S5 is now OK.

thanks man G901F with the codename kccat6 is very special among the s5 and it only supports the screen with a golden foil at the back, appart from that any other screen will keep it restarting

i regret now, why i only research these after ripped apart the original screen.. i bought another normal S5 model LCD for my kccat6.. and now it keep bootlooping..

I have just the same problem with my S5, download mode without any problem but I'm unable to reinstall OS because computer won't connect with the phone, I go this message when trying to restore with Heimdall:

Initialising connection...

Detecting device...

ERROR: Failed to detect compatible download-mode device.

Sorry. it is a good idea for most cases, but OP says he cant boot the device, OR get to recovery mode. Its a core file problem. he needs fresh software if it even is a software issue.
