Where to buy Chip for My MacBook

Block Image

Hello, my MacBook decided to die recently, I have disassembled it and found that the Chip "33C87" seems to have blown, located under the fan in the center. There is multiple chips like it around the board. Iwould like to replace it but I have not been able to locate anywhere to buy the part, any help would be much appreciated, thanks. :)

@eimantuks6 it is not possible to identify any IC/chip based on your description. You will have to let us know the exact model number of your logic board and post some images of a. the location of the "chip" and b. point it out as well as where it is located on the board. Use this guide 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기 to do so.

Hi, added a picture just now, it's the center Chip with part of it missing, on top is written 33C87 as on the other chips around the motherboard, it is directly underneath the fan in the center of the laptop, thank you

That is a capacitor. What exact model is your MacBook or even better what is the 820-xxxx number on the logic board.

It is an A1278 MacBook, 2008, Core 2 duo 2.0GHz, 160gb HDD, 2Gb ram

If this is correct, it's written 820-2361

Any ideas? Really would like to get this laptop working for school work

@eimantuks6 that is reference designator C7280 which is a 33UF 16V 20% Poly-Tant capacitor in a CASED2E package. Check at places like Mouser.com or Digikey.com as well as many others for replacement.
