My Macbook Pro late 2008 2,4Ghz could only have up to 4GB RAM. I know it because I upgraded from 2GB RAM. One czech Apple blog have written (mechanically translated here), that Macsales.com had written that with new EFI FW update you can upgrade up to 8GB RAM. Is it true?

I have just upgraded to 4GB, it is not fair :D
Some places will take it back if you're buying more expensive RAM, give it a try, all they can do is say no.
