@ian_carlos using rice is about the same as doing nothing, it does not do anything. It does not stop corrosion nor will it clean contamination left by the water.

The very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart/sync the phone. This may further damage your phone. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone all the way. You must remove all the EMI shields of the logic board. If you do not remove those you are not cleaning the board. Clean everything with +90% (no less than 90%) isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide, and even so it was written for an iPhone 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. Pay particular attention to the SMD components, check for charred missing or broken missing. You can then dry the board in an oven or equivalent at 220deg F (not higher;-) for a few hours. Best way to clean it would of course be through an ultrasonic cleaner. Consider professional help with that When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate.

You can find a ultrasonic cleaner at Harbor Freight, but I'd only recommend that if you clean multiple phones.

Put the phone in rice, the rice absorbs the water and it should be fine after an hour or two.

You could also try a hair drier at warm (to not melt anything)

Ok, people keep on telling me that putting it in rice doesnt work, but I really recommend doing that from my own experiences. Also, I'd like to point out that a lot of people who tried using alcohol on here had issues with their screen even after the treatment. Putting it in rice will dry it. I see what people mean when they say it wont stop corrosion, but think about the amount of time it can take to take the phone apart. I think you should dry it with rice BEFORE cleaning it, because if its still wet, there isnt ANYTHING to stop corrosion. Also I did some quick research and found this link. https://www.tccrocks.com/blog/rubbing-al...

Well, can you change that? I'm obviously very ticked off at you telling people that my Ideas dont work. They didn't ask how to clean it, they asked to DRY it. On the other post anyway. I'm answering questions. How to dry it? Put it in rice. And since you just said that rice dries the phone, you can't say its a lie.

but not good advice.

They asked to dry it. Rice dries it. If they wanted to know how to clean it, I would vote other's answers up.

Hey Technical Difficulties,

Admin here! Sorry for the mix up. We've banned that user to give him some time to cool down.

Although I can't endorse your rice recommendation, we're glad you're contributing here and we hope you continue to do so!
