DC In Power Jack or Logic Board?

I replaced the Logic Board with a matching version and model, Macbook 2.4 C2D 13" Santa Rosa. I replaced the DC In Power Jack too, compatible model. I'm getting a faint green light.

I'm using a brand new 60 watt Magsafe. The contacts on the DC jack look fine, and I don't THINK the pins are out of whack on the AC adapter. The 2 outer pins are a little higher than the 2 inner pins and 1 center pin.

Why did you replace the logic board? What was it doing beforehand?

Hi mayer, the system suffered water damage. Glass of water knocked over by a cat onto the system.

Gutsy, buying a logic board on a water damaged machine. Let's see if we can get it to work. Remove the battery and power supply and press the power on button for 10 seconds. Do you get anything, lights, sounds? Did you replace the keyboard? Was the machine on when the water came? Did it go in through the keyboard?

A little bit of the water did end up on the Keyboard/Top Case, but just the upper-left corner of the unit. The real damage took place inside. There was water corrosion everywhere on that Logic Board , DC Power Jack, and pretty much entire Top Case. I am suspicious of the used DC Power Jack I purchased, thinking that may be the culprit for the faint green power light. I haven't tried disconnecting the battery connector (which had corrosion on it I cleaned off); I have no idea if the battery connector could affect the faint green light. I've tried starting up with and without the battery in.

I will try the 10 sec. power button trick and report back. I suspect that if that faint green light's still there, I'm not getting anywhere.

I'd remove the battery for now, it's not needed to boot. Use a multimeter to test the DC board output.

How should I use the multimeter to test it Mayer? I tried all the contact points on the DC Jack where the Magsafe plugs in, got nothing. Do I do it where the cable plugs into the logic board?

That will work

Well, I found the problem, and wanted to report back so this information is now available on the web, as I did not find this scenario explained anywhere!

A bad battery connector can keep the system from booting up. There must have been water damage on the battery connector from the last system. I ordered a replacement and installed it, and the system is fine now.

So I've learned you should not keep anything connected that doesn't absolutely have to be when troubleshooting an Apple motherboard (at least with the Macbook) for troubleshooting.

Thanks for your help, Mayer.

Hi! I have the same problem with my macbook: faint green light and no charge.

I've tried to place a brand new battery but nothing changes.

I've already tried the trick of the 10 seconds without battery but doesn't work.

Inside is perfect but I'm worried about the humidity...

Is it the dc plug broken?! Can I change it by my self?

In an authorized apple center asked me 75$au just to open it...

Thank you for any answer!

I really worried and I don't know what to do!
