Black spots slowly growing

Hello,

These spots just showed up out of nowhere, they were pretty small and faded at first, but in a couple of days they started growing and intensifying, I have some electronics repair experience but never in my life have seen something like this, is the lcd dead? the phone was never dropped or got wet, I’ve seen people rub off dead pixels but I’m not sure if this is related, and since it’s kind of hard to get to the lcd I wouldn’t want to try it if there’s not even a chance for this to be fixed by rubbing it :(
