Replacement battery won't charge after it was depleted
Hi All,
I'm at a real loss here of what is going on with the MBP in my household. In December, the battery in this laptop puffed up, bent the bottom a bit and bent the trackpad up a bit. I ordered a new battery from iFixit and all was well (charged up, etc.) until the battery got to 2%. It would no longer charge. iFixit sent a replacement and the same thing has happened again.
Once the replacement battery gets low, it stops charging. The magsafe adapter shows green all the time and the computer shuts off instantly when removing the magsafe and boots immediately when the magsafe is plugged in. I have tried SMC/PRAM resets.
When I put the puffed battery back in the MBP, it charges from depletion without issue and charges when the laptop is off. The MBP also runs fine without the magsafe connected with the puffed battery.
I find it hard to believe that I have gotten 2 bad replacements in a row from iFixit (I wouldn't be surprised from a random Amazon seller). However, I also find it hard to believe anything is wrong with the MBP if everything works perfectly fine with the old battery.
I have some screenshots (sorry taken with my iPhone and not actual screenshots):
Old (puffed) battery charging:

Replacement iFixit battery Coconut battery (says not charging in Mac menu bar):
The coconut battery status of the 1st (returned) replacement battery and the 2nd replacement battery would show the same stuff. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
