Why won't my Maytag bravos topload washer change cycles on its own

I have a Maytag Bravos top load washing machine. It will run the cycles just fine but I have to change the cycles manually. Like I start it in the wash cycle and it fills, agitates, and drains then I have to hold the start button to cancel it and switch to rinse and spin. It does to cycle just fine then have to cancel and start in drain and spin which runs fine. It just won't move through the cycles on its own. Any help would be great. It's a Maytag Bravos Model# MVWX600BW0
