Why is this filter spinning around in my Shark vacuum?

Hi,

The filter spilled out of my canister when I was dumping out the dust cup and I put it back in. But now it spins wildly in the canister making the whole vacuum vibrate. It doesn't seem like it's sucking as much now and also making high-pitch squeaks due to air being forced.

Hi,

Here is a link to the ifixit Shark Vacuum guides.

Hopefully your model is listed (you didn't specify) as most guides show how to remove and reinstall the filters.

I have a Shark Apex Powered Lift-Away.

I figured it out. I had the filter in the wrong part of the dust cup housing.

Rookie mistake ;)
