Is my LCD panel broken, or something else?

I recently purchase a Vizio M70-E3 70" 4K TV a few months ago and when moving into my new house, dropped it from a height of about 6", and caused it to no longer show an image on the screen. I am going to be very detailed with the sequence of events with my diagnosis, so please bear with me.

It was balancing on a piece of styrofoam as two people were holding it, and one person lost their grip. So when I say it fell 6", it was standing vertically and fell literally 6" and hit on the bottom side in the bottom lefthand corner. It never continued to fall on its face or anything like that. Just hit the corner pretty hard on the wood floor.

I tried to power it on to check for damage and the TV would power on without issue, but the panel would not turn on. The bezel had popped out of its clips a bit, so I could see that the backlight was coming on as well. Just no activity from the panel.

Fast forward a bit as I go buy a 75" replacement and put this one back in the box for storage until I can mess with it again. I pull it out of the box yesterday and take the back cover off to inspect what may have been damaged in that corner. There's a ribbon that goes to a tiny board those holds the power indicator LED. That was broken off of its mount, but still seemed to work once I powered up the TV again. Only this time, the panel comes on, too! However, there's some discoloration in the panel now.

Normally I would assume that the panel is dead, but I have a question about these flimsy translucent tabs at the side. I can wiggle a couple of them and create lines on the TV and cause it to restart. Is it possible, however remote, that something with these tabs has happened and it's manifesting itself as a bad panel? I highlydoubt it, but I don't know anything about this kind of stuff and wanted to make sure before I threw the TV away.
