MacBook Air won’t turn on unless plugged in

I cannot find the answer to my problem anywhere!

Problem:

Laptop won’t turn on. Sometimes turns on if I plug it in and do SMC reset multiple times but only then, after I close the lid and unplug the charger same situation.

  • Battery holds a charge
  • Charger works
  • Brand new charging port

I did try doing an SMC reset but it does not fix the issue, it just lets me boot it up sometimes.
