My Iphone 3G froze one night so I turned it off. When I tried turning it back on, it used to go to the apple logo screen and stay there. But now when I try to turn it on, the screen is just white for about 20 seconds then turns back off. What do you think is wrong with it? What can I do to fix it? I tried hard resetting it, but it won't work!

It may be the LCD has been damaged. When the screen goes white try swiping your finger across the screen where you would normally find the "slide to unlock" displayed. It should still respond if the touchscreen is ok even if the LCD is damaged.(you will hear the click) If this is the case then you can either open the phone using a guide on the right, check that cable no 1 is connected properly. If this doesn't alter the display then you will need to order a new one.

You may need to act as if it is normal. Go into settings, if you can, and try checking on the brightness tab. Or you could also replace the LCD which might be damaged. In case nothing is working, you can call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE to see if they would know of a solution.
P.S. Best Buy is really good for this because I went there for an iTouch malfunction and they fixed it in no time!

Rachel, its a neat answer but I do not think it will work. The question had the part that said that the screen is white, I take that as in backlight lit but nothing else on the display. Not sure why you take it to best buy if you can "ifixit" yourself and this person may not be in a place where they have Best Buy...Thanks.
