Blue tooth misses part of sound playing music to headphones

I purchased some new blue tooth headphones. They work fine with my old MacBookPro but on my mid 2012 MacPro (where I would really like to use them) they miss about 1/4 second of sound every 2 seconds. Does anyone have any ideas? Any suggestion much appreciated! My wireless keyboard and mouse seem to work fine. Computer details follow:
