Fuji DL-60 or Discovery 60 won't wind on

I bought a Fuji DL-60 automatic film camera off of Ebay. Description told that it was in almost perfect condition and had only been used a couple of times. I added batteries and a roll of film however when closing the back the exposure counter didn’t change and when pushing the shutter release button nothing happens. My batteries do work as when I turn on the auto rewind it is fully functional.

Extra info: This camera is the dated version and has a very small screen on the back so you can change the date. This does not work either.
