Trouble shooting my tv not turning on.

When switched on the red light would blink and then go back to solid.

Unplugged the tv for a night and turned it back on same thing happened

Unplugged again and next day turned it back on came on kinda but it was a blank green screen that shut right back off.

Looked on some forums that said it could be a power supply transistor but all of them look intact.

Where should I go from here?

I don’t have the exact model of tv off hand right now but the power supply board is lgp55-11slpb

There is all the images that I found useful. Let me know if you need anything else. Also, I don’t think there was any sound coming from the tv during the green screen process if you want me to confirm that I can put the tv back together that test it again.

If it turned off pretty much immediately it could be a power board issue. The green light may have been your backlight. You did not tell us if you have any sound or anything else when the TV turns on. Check around connector P202 on the power board and measure the output on the board connector according to the silkscreened values. You do want to go ahead and remove the back and post plenty of good images of your boards and your layout/wiring with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기 for that. We do need to know your exact model. That power board you are having was used for different models commonly in the 55LW5600

Since we still do not know what model this is all I can provide at this time are teh voltages you need to get on your powr board. You’ll need a multimeter and to put your TV back together. Then measure the voltages.

The fuse F101 reads approximately 57V and F501 reads 154V during this time (from hot ground) . The transformer T501 delivers an AC signal which is rectified and filtered by D201, D202, C201 and C202 which develops a Stand-By voltage of 3.55V which is used by the SMPS Controller circuit and is also sent to the Main Board. It is output P201 pins 9~12 and sent to the P502 on the Main Board.

When the controller chip on the back side of the SMPS receives the PWR-ON command 3.4V via P201 Pin 1, it turns on the Relay RL101 which supplies AC to the bridge rectifier BD101. The primary section (Power Factor Controller circuit) increases its current supplying ability.

Both Primary fuses F101 and F501 now reads between 395V~397V (from hot ground). D253 receiving switching pulses from L601 and filtered by C256 and C257, develops the 63V for the LED backlights.

When the SMPS (switch mode power supply)receives the DRV_ON command from the Main board via P201 Pin 18 (3.24V) it turns on the on-board Inverter to start driving the LED backlights. The backlight brightness is controlled by the Main board via PWM Pin 22 and Local Dimming signals via P832. :-)

P201 Connector: (To Main Board)

3.5V_ST (3.55V) output P201 pins 9~12

12V output P201 pins 17, 19 and 21

24V output P201 pins 2, 3 and 4.

Turn on commands

P202 Connector: ( To Panel LEDs)

63V output P202 pins 1 and 12.

P203 Connector: (To Panel LEDs)

63V output P203 pins 1 and 13.

Let us know what you find

okay start with these test. Read what I previosult answered so you know that the backlight voltage etc. comes up when you start the TV. Keep your hands safely away from any bare metal :-)

Just checking if you saw the photos I posted to see if that helps

The model is an 55lw5300. Sorry it took me awhile to post this

Yes I did and no obvious damage to the boards. Start by checking the voltages and let us know what you get or if you get stuck anywhere.

Will do thank you

Quick question. Just wrote down in a note books all of the voltages I’m looking for. Just was wondering if you could give me a step by step break down of how to check this. I understand the basic knowledge but in terms of order of operations and where to exactly place things I could use a little guidance.

Thank you I really appreciate it

Have a look at the capacitors on the psu to see if they are bulging at the top or a white substance on top but I wouldn’t assume bad caps would cause a green screen, check the caps anyway but the problem could be with the T-con board.
