Samsung 55" J6200 Full LED Smart TV portion of screen dark

We recently moved with our Samsung LED Smart TV (Model: un55j6200af), and upon unpacking it, a large portion of the screen is dark. There is a clear line running through the bottom third, and it is primarily dark on the right side, fading out towards the left. There is also a weird delay/blurring effect in the upper right corner. We are unsure if this was a problem before we moved, as we inherited from friends who had left it sitting for a couple of years without use. We tried applying pressure to the screen, and we opened up the back cover to see if there was anything clearly broken, but no insights or improvements. Any suggestions on what could be wrong, or if this is fixable? Or, at this point, should we just cut our losses?
