The most likely scenario is that moisture got into your phone. The touch circuitry is pretty much all in the screen so if there are any ghost touching issues, a replacement screen should be sufficient. However, if a known-good replacement screen still has the same issue, then the problem is probably at the logic board level. You could check the connector on the logic board to see if there is any visible corrosion but beyond that, logic board issues require a visit to your friendly neighbourhood micro-solderer.

@refectio What do you think i should do then as the guy in the shop took my screen off and then said it wasn’t the screen then he put it back on and now the phone is stuck in a boot loop and restoring the phone doesnt resolve this.

@harris555 If you do end up looking for a new screen, buy one from here at iFixit. iFixit only sells known-good replacement parts and if it truely is a bad screen they sent you then they will send you another one.

Hey @ajcooke01...careful with those statements ;>). Nobody sells "known-good" parts. Companies, like iFixit, apply rigorous quality control and they stand behind their products but that doesn't mean everything they ship out the door is fully functional. Besides, even if it was, the parts still have to survive the shipping process.

When we refer to known-good parts for troubleshooting, that means the parts, in-hand, are of known working condition. Trying new replacement parts is pretty close but not quite the same thing because you don't know, for a fact, that they are in working condition.

BTW, why do you have two user profiles (@ajcooke01 & @ajcooke02)?

@refectio @ajcooke02 is for when I couldn’t log into this account right now. It’s basically my backup

(insert eyes emoji here)

@refectio i like to keep this one semi-active so that if I have more login troubles I still have some rep.

Putting electronics in rice to dry them out is a wives tale. http://www.riceisfordinner.com
